Guide to Generic Concerta

New generic formulations are being dispensed as substitutes for generic Concerta since October 2013. These "generics" contain the same active ingredient and use the same dosage, but do not have the unique OROS delivery system that Concerta has. As a result they may have very different pharmacodynamics, affecting the way the medication acts. For this reason, we are now specifying the Watson/Actavis OROS generic only (tablets are inscribed "alza") on all prescriptions for generic Concerta.
