- April 4, 2009: We're getting married!
- November 2008: We start discussing wedding plans.
- December 3, 2007: Alex took me out to dinner for a second proposal and gave me the ring.
- November 2007: We decided on and purchased an engagement ring.
- August 2007: We started announcing the engagement.
- April 2007: The proposal.
- September 12, 2003: We began dating.
Alex and I began dating September 12, 2003. In April of 2007 we had a discussion which entailed our desires for marriage. It had been a long day when Alex proposed, so I asked him to ask me again the next day. He did and I said yes. However, we decided to not tell anyone. In August (4 months later) we started letting people know. We planned on a long engagement to allow us both time to finish school and settle into the "real world" after graduation. In November, we started an informal search for an engagement ring. We happened to luck out and find one we both loved for a great price very early on in the search. On December 3, Alex took me to dinner for a formal propsal at our favourite Asheville eatery (The Noodle Shop!) and presented me with this lovely ring:
In November of 2008, we realized many of the reasons we were postponing our marriage were no longer applicable. With that in mind, we began to discuss the reality of our wedding.
