To Morganton from Raleigh:

Access I-40 West.

Remain on I-40, take exit #103.

Make a right turn and follow signs.

To Morganton from Asheville:

Access I-40 East.

Take exit #103.

Make a left turn and follow signs.

Once in Morganton, to the Courthouse:

The Old Burke County Courthouse is the center of downtown, bounded by East Meeting, South Green, East Union,

and South Sterling Streets.

From exit #103, make the appropriate turn.

You will remain on this road which is Burkemont Ave. until it ends at a light on a T. On the way you will pass Western Piedmont Community College and the North Carolina School for the Deaf, both on your right.

When Burkemont Ave. ends, you will make a right turn onto W. Union St.

Go straight for 3 lights. W. Union St. changes to W. Meeting, then to E. Meeting. You will pass an Exxon on the left at the first light, a white building which houses the Historic Burke Foundation on the right at the second light, a small used car lot on the right at the third light.

At the 4th light, the old Burke County jail will be on the left and you will turn left onto S. Green St, which is also Highway 18 and a one way street. The courthouse will be on your left.

Parking is available on the S. Green St, E. Union and N. Sterling sides of the courthouse. If you prefer a lot, there is one between the movie theater and the bank on the right side of S. Green St. There are also two other parking lots within walking distance of the courthouse. They are marked on our map. Both are accessible from N. King St. and one is also accessible from W. Meeting St., between stoplights #2 and #3 mentioned above.

Please take a look at this map to familiarize yourself with the locations and parking. Downtown Morganton has a lot of one way streets and can be a bit confusing.

Yianni's is located at 112 W. Union St. It is less than 1 block from the Courthouse, so we intend to walk. We have reserved the upstairs dining area.
