LMS used by the AIU library is Virtua, a full-function library management system, providing management of circulation, cataloging, serials, acquisitions, course reserves and more. The system has four modules. The modules are acquisitions (which deals with buying of the books from suppliers), Cataloging (which deals with the bibliographic details. This can be divided into two categories which are holdings and serials.), OPAC (the tool that helps search for the books and handles patron functions such as library account management), and circulation (which is the transactions, loans and fines that the library customer has). All functions are fully integrated, allowing any staff user to access any function at any time according to their library-assigned permissions.
The Windows-based Virtua Profiler makes setting and changing system parameters easy. Everything from circulation policies to user permissions can be set up, viewed and modified through this easy-to-use interface.Virtua’s InfoStation provides a large library of reports, each with options for customizing the output to meet your specific requirements. InfoStation also allows the automation of routine system tasks, automatically delivering reports to your mailbox to reduce your management effort – which means reduced operational cost. Virtua integrates with many of the most popular specialized library software and content solutions, including Syndetics content enrichment, OverDrive e-books, Comprise PC reservation and print management, iTiva automated telephone notification as well as most self-check and RFID circulation solutions. In addition, Virtua allows data exchange with your student information system or financial management system.

The Information System used in AIU Library concentrates on providing the patron users with quick and easy access to the materials. The library uses Virtua CMS system for storing all the acquisition and cataloging information in the database which will be easy to search. There is also the integrated MIS (Management Information System) which currently holds details of around 20,000 books and information of all the registered patrons. With the use of the Virtua CMS system, LMS system and integrated MIS (management information system), and the TPS (Transaction Processing System) OPAC Is set to provide quality service to the people who use it and provide the quality results that one is required to have.
It is normal website which uses GUI (graphic user interface) to make the use of program easier for the user. This system has been set to work together with internet connection connected into two networks such as Intranet (which helps in sharing database and other document in the department without any problem) and Internet (helps in access work easily). These two networks ease the usage of OPAC to the users with the elements of CMS such as Web Content Suit, E-marketing Suite that can help provide the two main services. It uses a special module that can integrate into the system for the use of operator to run a service. The service of CMS modules is easy to manage and also user friendly.
