Adventures in Arcadayn: System Support for GURPS, Fourth Edition
Game System
The following pages present material specific to the GURPS, Fourth Edition, rules set.
Players will be expected to be familiar with at least GURPS Lite, and preferably with GURPS Basic Set: Characters. Ideally, players will use GURPS Lite to learn the basics of the new edition, but will use the greater range of options in Characters to build their PCs. (GURPS Basic Set: Campaigns is not necessary except for players who want detailed information on combat, technology, creatures, and a few other subjects.)
Spellcasters should be familiar with GURPS Magic unless they are satisfied with the relatively short spell list in Characters (and the very brief rules on item enchantment in Campaigns). GURPS Magic Spell Charts is a useful reference charting all prerequisite chains.
For players familiar with 3E but not 4E, GURPS Update is a handy guide to the changes in character generation under the new rules, and to converting characters from 3E to 4E.
I will be using the following 4E books to some extent, mostly for world-building and adventure prep, but players are not expected to be familiar with them: Fantasy,Infinite Worlds, and Mysteries. I have also used several 3E sourcebooks to create this setting, primarily Bestiary, Fantasy Bestiary, Low-Tech, and Religion.
