My Background
Nursing Career: Linda's career as a Qualified Registered Nurse with 40 years experience was varied and constantly rewarding. Over the years I gained experience in many different specialties in both emergency and community hospitals. Following a year out nursing in Florida I opted to build my career in the operating rooms. I worked within the operating rooms for approximately 20 years and during that time I became the service manager of 8 operating rooms and 3 recovery rooms, with over 150 staff.
Managerial Career: Clinical Effectiveness Leader for improving nursing standards and the effectiveness and quality of care being provided over acute emergency and community hospitals and then as a Performance Manager for implementing governmental policies and standards around the delivery of timely and effective medical and nursing care for patients in the hospital and community settings.
Acupuncturist Career: Whilst continuing to work in the hospital and community environment Linda also chose to study and qualified as a Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture practitioner and Emotional Freedom Therapy practitioner. This came about from recognising that patients with chronic diseases and pain required more options for help with their conditions and that complemented the western medical care being given. Practising in these fields allowed me to increase and broaden my knowledge further and help people directly, where I was able to utilise my nursing skills alongside diagnosing and treating patients (clients) using Chinese Medicine philosophies and principles.
In addition to this work I have also availed of other opportunities to continue to grow and develop. These include:
I am also a mother and grandmother with a growing number of beautiful grandchildren, who I love dearly.
Finding the right tool that works for your body sometimes requires trying a number of different complementary medicines, designed to complement what western medicine offers and not to replace it. I have written this book to offer you the opportunity to try and address pain from the comfort of your own home, using tried and tested acupressure treatment techniques, which are illustrated in the book. The book also provides background information on acupressure and trigger point relief. As an acupuncturist and massage therapy specialist I have personally applied the acupressure treatment technique on many clients and have found it to be successful.
I believe that our body is energy and with tapping into and moving the energy our bodies can be stimulated to heal from many types of conditions including pain. The suggested acupressure treatment is easy to do and gentle. The aim is to avoid pain when applying it. The book also contains a selection of stretching techniques for toning muscles and some lifestyle tips. I wish a pain free, happy life to all readers and anyone suffering from pain and hopes that the information in this book provides you with relief. However if you don’t find the results you are looking for, other types of complementary medicine may provide you with the much desired relief from your suffering. The Power of Childhood Dreams is an illustrated fun story with a philosophy. It centres around 3 children who have childhood dreams of becoming rich and or famous. The children had not shared their dreams until they met an old man who over the course of the book describes how he himself achieved his dream to become a doctor. The children having listened to the old man over the next few days tried out some of the techniques he had described.
This book was written in the hope that it would inspire children to learn as much as they could and to follow their dreams, recognising that they can change over time as they grow older.
The book was co-authored by mother and grandmother of Liam, who helped in the development of it and is a great source of inspiration.

Ruby Ransom is a romantic thriller, adventure book, which includes a journey half way across the world where romance blossoms with an unexpected outcome.
Rachel a young medical nurse feels compelled to save a patient’s child from captivity. Travelling halfway across the world transporting the ransom to save the child, she faced many dangers and in the process of risking her life falls in love – a love destined to ….
It begins with Rachel, a young woman, during the course of her role as a nurse in a hospital struggling with a professional ethical dilemma. Should she own up to what she found among the belongings of a patient when she realised she had unconsciously omitted to log them as per hospital protocol. Or should she trust her instincts about what she uncovered and in the young man. The suspense around waiting for him to awaken and alleviate her concern was almost unbearable.
The book is a fine combination of mystery, thriller suspense with an island setting and a romantic, medical theme. Perfect for fans of Sidney Sheldon.
