Mentor2Inspire: eLearning2020

Mentor2Inspire is a partnership between Acheve Foundation and IITMadras, one of India's premier institutions. ACHEVE worked with the talented staff at IITM's Teach2Learn organization to launch Mentor2Inspire. More than 25 IIT students were identified and trained to help support the learning at our orphanage schools. As a result of this project, orphanage children receive more than 10 hours of online educational instruction on advanced science and maths topics.

The project commenced with the SKGA orphanage and is being extended to Gandhigram and other orphanages.

IIT students and other ACHEVE volunteers provide education and inspiration to Class X and Class XII in subjects like Sciences/Chemistry, English, and Mathematics.

Tutor Orientation

Selected student mentors/tutors were given orientation on the objective of the program and the expectations from them. They were also made aware of systematic preparation, the Dos and Don’ts of remote teaching and were also briefed on the background of the Tutees. More details of the project can be found here.

T

Challenges

Lack of access to mobile technology and data bandwidth has proven to be a major challenge. The ACHEVE and IIT Mentors Tutors are offering tremendous support and help in this regard.
