Projects supported by ACHEVE
During the pandemic-crisis, ACHEVE foundation is working with orphanages and resource-staved schools in India and the USA to continue learning and education during these troubled times.
Most schools have been asked to move online, even as the resource-starved students lack adequate bandwidth and mobile devices to participate in online education.
ACHEVE has been helping these orphanage schools procure working mobile devices (see photo below) and data plans - to allow students to participate in online classes. In addition, volunteers from ACHEVE have been using the internet to support teachers and students with content and training in Maths, Sciences, and English.
ACHEVE is also using this crisis to develop the digital technology infrastructure of the orphanage schools. Specifically, we invested in building an online-friendly classroom at the Gandhigram orphanage and the SKGA orphanage. In addition, ACHEVE has supported various orphanage school construction and maintenance projects.
ACHEVE supported YALLA SD to build and expand the YALLA Futures program - the only college preparatory program in CA that uses competitive soccer and academic programs to motivate refugee and immigrant youth to rebuild their lives.
ACHEVE's very first project was an "Annadaanam" (feeding the hungry and needy destitute children) on Feb 13, 2016 at the SKGA orphanage in the southern tip of India. ACHEVE also supported a project to provide Groceries / Food Expenses for 97 children for 3 months from Apr '17 - Jul '17.
