Learning Resource Centre (LRC) at Acharya Institute of Institute Library
The Learning Resource Centre at Acharya Institute of Institute Library serves as the intellectual hub of the campus, offering an optimal environment for academic inquiry. It provides an array of facilities such as study spaces, research assistance, and a comprehensive collection of reading, learning, and instructional resources, all bolstered by state-of-the-art ICT infrastructure in support of teaching, learning, research, and extension activities. The LRC caters to a diverse user base of over 15,000 students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as well as research scholars, and approximately 1,000 faculty and staff members.
Facilities and Services
The LRC spans three floors, covering a vast carpet area of 5,400 sqms, and accommodating various facilities, reading and learning resources, as well as seating arrangements for approximately 600 users at any given time.
To ensure seamless access to resources, user-focused facilities and services are provided, including Wi-Fi, internet access, electrical plug-in facilities, and more, available throughout all reading areas and study carrels.
The LRC houses a Virtual Learning Resource Lab and Study Carrels, equipped with 75 Apple computers in a networked environment, providing internet access, digital learning resources, and online access to a wide array of major e-journals and e-books across various disciplines.
Resource Access and Management
The library utilises KOHA, an integrated library management software package, to effectively manage its operations and facilitate resource sharing among Acharya Institute's libraries.
ALIBNET, a network linking all libraries of Acharya Institutes, has been established using KOHA's "Single Instance and Multiple Libraries" feature.
A digital repository known as the Institutional Repository (IR-Dspace) provides access to Acharya Institutes' publications, allowing users to download publications, Previous year Question papers, data/reports, and non-traditional reading material.
Security and Professional Support
Security measures including centrally installed fire alarms, CCTV surveillance, and RFID technology have been implemented to ensure the safety of the LRC's resources and users.
The LRC is staffed with qualified, experienced, and well-trained library professionals dedicated to serving the user community with excellence, providing invaluable support in meeting their academic and research information needs.
Library Hours and Collection
The Learning Resource Centre is open from 8 am to 10 pm on all working days and from 9 am to 5 pm on Sundays and holidays, providing ample access to its extensive collection.
The LRC boasts a collection of more than 1,00,000 documents, subscribes to about 200 print journals, and provides access to over 10,500 online full-text journals and several abstracting databases, in addition to housing 1000 e-books and a comprehensive collection of books and back-volumes of periodicals.
E-Library
In keeping with modern learning trends, the LRC offers students the flexibility to access e-resources from anywhere and at any time, ensuring that physical boundaries do not confine learning and providing access to e-resources from across the world.

Library Collection: The Learning Resource Centre has a collection of more than 1,00,000 documents, subscribes to about 200 print journals, and provides access to over 10,500 online full-text journals and several abstracting databases. Besides, there are 1000 e-books. The collection consists of Books, Back-volumes of Periodicals.
Question Point service: 'Ask a Librarian' service to answer the information queries and reference questions of any users of Acharya Institutes: asklibrarian@acharya.ac.in
Users Training and Information Literacy Programs: To sensitize and promote the use of e-resources, learning materials, CD/DVD Databases, information exchange and online access to Internet and web resources, the Library organizes User-focused training Programs on ICT Skills, Research Communication, and Information Management. Topics on research planning, ICTs and E-resources, Internet, E-communication, Discussion forums, Data Analysis packages, citation patterns, thesis/dissertation writing, technical paper writing, e-resources, information search skills, developing materials for scientific presentations, news reporting and editing for press and media are covered for different target groups.
LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE - GUIDELINES
LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP AND ID CARDs ARE OBLIGATORY
Users of the LRC (Central Library) must be members of a library. (User Have to registrar library membership in their respective department Library)
Carry your ID card while entering the Library
Gate entry is mandatory for IN/OUT. (If going outside the library premises)
Produce Library (RFID/ID) Cards to Borrow/Renew/Return Books at the Counter.
Membership valid up to the completion of the course
Membership Card Non-transferable
Report Immediately Loss of Library Card/Books
Duplicate Library Card @ Rs. 100/- (AIT-User)
GENERAL RULES
Keep Mobile Phones in Silent Mode
Eatables/Drinks not allowed inside the Library
Deposit Bags, Gowns, Umbrellas, etc. at the Property Counter and collect Token
For lost/misplaced Property Counter Token replacement charge of Rs. 200/- and articles released against undertaking
Don’t keep Money, Camera, Mobile, Credit card, etc. in Property Counter
Library is not responsible for any Loss/Damage of Personal Belongings
Disciplinary Action for Scratching, Damaging, Mutilating, Stealing Library Resources/ Property / Misbehaving with Library Staff
Don’t Misplace Books, leave them on Reading Tables after Consulting
Maintain Decorum and Discipline
Membership will be Cancelled for Misusing Resources, Damage, Misbehaving with Library Staff
