At aaIT Consulting Limited I have over 15 years experience in the IT services industry. Below are details of my experiences.
Astra Zeneca (Cognizant Technology Solutions)
I was part of the Cognizant bid team for the new AstraZeneca R&D ANGEL system. For a duration of three months we worked tirelessly to provide AZ with a complete RFP response which included such aspects as a robost full performance tuned TRS (Total Regulatory Solution) system solution deliverable over various horizon timescales, future enhancements which included mobile UI, full cloud implementation implementation options and recommendations, use of web services through an ESB (Enterprise Service Bus), full BI (Business Intelligence) and Analytic deliverables.
Although the bid was unsuccessful I learnt a great deal on the complete solution and having the ability to deliver more than just a CSC R&D implementation. I made some great working relationships with colleagues at Cognizant during this assignment.
fme
I created and executed full integration test cases for fme's Migration Centre FirstDoc Importer version 3.2. Each test case pushed the software through various legacy data scenarios to ensure it worked as expected against the latest releases of CSC's FirstDoc R&D and Q&M.
Boehringer Ingelheim (fme)
Working for fme I created a Documentum Java Server job interface to obtain source data from Oracle and manage FirstDoc data dictionaries. The Java process used XML DOM to define each data source and its corresponding target data dictionary.
CSC's FirsDoc Web Services were used to create and change the status of data dictionary entries based on changes in the source data. The solution was delivered to my client one week early.
Merck KGaA - Multiple Docbase Upgrade
I upgraded three Documentum docbases from version 5.2 to version 5.3SP5. These three legacy systems required upgrade since the Content Server AIX 5.2 version was no longer supported by the clients O.S team.
The Content Server and three docbases meta-data and content were upgraded in a single day without issue thus ensuring minimal downtime!
Merck KGaA - EDMS 2.0 Implementation
As a technical lead on this contract I implemented CSC's FirstDoc R&D vertical on a Documentum 6.0SP1 AIX distributed content server environment. I worked face to face with the client to capture business processess and deliver them in the form of configurations and customisations which included new Drug Safety and Research types, a less complex security model and making the system Internet Explorer 8 compliant. This project involved working closely with the migration team to ensure migrated documents were fully trackable in the new system.
The latest release of CSC's SPX 6.2.1 was succesfully back-ported into this FirstDoc 5.0 system. A major cost benefit of this version is that Sharepoint 2010 Foundation was able to be used for this implementation.
Takeda Scanning Integration
Using Documentum’s scanning solution, InputAccel I created a number of scanning workflow processes which integrated with Takeda's FDRD 5.0 system. The solution was delivered error free and ahead of time.
MedImmune Tardis Upgrade (formally Cambridge Antibody Technology)
I had the role of the technical lead working with a team of seven people. An existing FirstDoc FDRD 3.0.1 system was upgraded in-place to version 4.2.1. This included the upgrade of Documentum, Oracle and FirstDoc. Various configurations and one customisation were delivered. I worked very closely with the client helping onsite to ensure they kept to their deadlines. System Administrator training was delivered. The project was delivered on time and below budget.
Actelion iTrack System
My role was that of technical lead on this FDRD 4.2.1 installation. My duties on this project included the production and execution of Installation Qualification’s and delivery of superuser and system administration training. I worked closely with the client to capture and deliver the requirements for their auto-numbering and watermarking solutions.
Sanofi Aventis QDMS
I worked in a team of five to deliver a new FirstDoc Quality and Manufacturing system. My tasks as a senior developer included configuring the new system based on the customer requirements. This included complex multi-language watermark and printing configurations. The project was delivered on time and under budget.
CSC Life Sciences Graduate Training
I produced the CSC Life Sciences on-boarding training materials. I delivered this and other corporate training to new graduate internal staff. These training materials were reused for further on-board sessions.
Cephalon Kiosk QDocs Intranet Website Creation
I completed the development of a new bespoke client intranet website which displayed document information obtained real-time from the client docbase. The website was programmed using HTML, JSP and Java technologies and utilised Documentum's WDK framework, anonymous login functionality, virtual link functionality (to view document content) and direct links to the document locations within the repository. The website also included configurable browse functionality, advanced Search capabilities and multi-language support. The Kiosk website was delivered two weeks early and without error.
Merck MIDAS Alignment Projects
I worked as a lead developer in the alignment of Merck's R&D and Q&M systems with their MIDAS Core 4.1 system.
Organon Legacy Document Migration
I completed the task of migrating legacy documents (non FirstDoc) from one generic repository to a FirstDoc R&D respository using FirstDoc’s FDCMU. Tasks included; Moving 60,000 folders, 300,000 documents and 80,000 annotations. Many XSL transformations were executed against the XML meta-data to ensure the data was FirstDoc compliant.
AstraZeneca Onsite Placement
AstraZeneca required the migration of a number of users, groups, documents and audit trail records to a new repository. I developed various migration export/import tools to transfer the users, groups and audit trails and used CSC's FDCMU tool to transfer the documents to the new system. The migration process was completed a week ahead of schedule. The tools developed on this project were reused on other projects.
I presented a two day technical training course of FirstDoc Configuration Management Utility (FDCMU) training to a group of AstraZeneca employees. This task included altering the standard training materials to make it relevant to the client needs and skill level.
Lundbeck Pluto Configurations
I was the technical lead of a team to develop various enhancements/fixes to the Pluto R&D system. This included a migration task of applying a unique ID to each document in the system. This process was handled using FirstDoc’s FDCMU 3.3 taskmanager component. The project was delivered a week early and without error.
Solvay FirstDoc System Performance Improvement Investigation
I completed an on-site performance investigation of the Solvay FirstDoc system. His investigation focused both at the Oracle and FirstDoc levels. I supplied recommendations for the SDL property screens and the creation of a new materialized Oracle view. Both were implemented and excellent performance gains were achieved.
Roche ConDoR Phase 2
I served as a Lead Developer on the Roche ConDoR phase 2 project, completing both configuration and customisation work based on Documentum 5.2.5 SP2 and FirstDoc’s FDGMP software packages. I completed a performance investigation into the system and implemented a number of performance changes included Audit Trail, SDL screens and system views. The Audit Trail performance change was implemented across all of CSC's client base FirstDoc systems.
LEO Pharmaceuticals Assignment
My role on this assignment was as the lead Developer, completing both configuration and customisation work. The decision was taken to utilise the functionality of the FDCMU tool for this project. This resulted in improved development, implementation, support and documentation processes.
Novartis Animal Health
I served as a Developer on the NovAHstar-2 project, completing a change to the system that involved creating a new eSignature Workflow within FirstDoc’s QM package. This change also required the integration of the third party package, ‘Liquent Insignia’ into the system environment.
Civil Service Motoring Association (CSMA)
I worked in a team of four supporting the CSMA’s Vehicle Breakdown System. Support was provided using Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Unix Shell Scripting technologies. The role included; solving many faults within the complex areas of the system, documenting enhancement requests and estimating. I produced standard systems support documentation for use by the whole team.
Northern Electric
I worked within a team of two to complete an onsite Technical Audit on a new Electricity Forecasting system. The system was audited to ensure it could be supported at a remote location. Tasks included: Capturing system knowledge through interviews, obtaining the system architecture requirements, quality checks of all system documentation and code. The audit was delivered and the system was accepted into support on schedule.
I was then part of the team which supported the Electricity Demand Forecasting system. Systems support was provided using Oracle PL/SQL, C++, UNIX Shell Scripting, Java, JSP’s, Applets and HTML technologies.
Corus
I worked in a team of four on an upgrade of a business critical scheduling system. This upgrade of the system enabled the client to schedule the processing of its products through three individual sites. I produced requirements specifications, technical module specifications, system code and test scripts. I chaired monthly progress meetings with the client. The system was developed on a Mainframe platform using Natural fourth generation language (4GL) and DB2 Database.
I worked in a team of six to deliver a paint stock management system. I produced technical specifications, system code and system test scripts. The system was developed in Natural 4GL and Natural Construct using a DB2 database. I built part of the user interface which utilised Radio Data Terminal Bar Code Readers (RDT’s). The system was delivered on time and to budget.
