The Changing Map of the Arctic
In May 2015, the United States will assume the chairmanship of the Arctic Council at a time of tremendous change in the region. There are few people better equipped to understand and explain these changes than Mead Treadwell who will deliver a keynote address on the changing map of the Arctic. Mr. Treadwell has had a long and distinguished career in business, politics and research in Alaska. He was served on the United States Arctic Research Commission starting in 2001, and in 2006 was appointed chair of the commission and from 2010 to 2014, he served as Lt. Governor of Alaska.
