In his role as Executive Secretary of the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, Ron Miller is the chief negotiator for more than 100,000 skilled workers in 48 local unions for 15 different Trades.

Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) bring labor standards and collective bargaining to project-based work. Entities such as LA County Metro, University of Southern California, Kaiser Permanente and NBCUniversal have worked with Ron and the Council to put billions of dollars in construction work under Project Labor Agreements. Ron will talk about the efficiency of a PLA; how it helps streamline construction through labor peace and grievance procedures; the political benefit of supporting a PLA; and PLAs as a pipeline to hire local residents and bring diversity to the well-paying careers of the Building Trades.
