XT-752 Fairey Gannet, New Richmond, WI

The restoration of an unusual 1954 British XT-752 Fairey Gannet (T-5) airplane is taking place at the New Richmond, WI airport with a planned museum in the works. The plane has an unusual, jet engine powered, dual propeller which allowed long periods over the target and heavy payloads-an atomic torpedo, sonar buoys, rockets, etc. The anti-submarine prototype was designed to be flown from a carrier. See more information on the XT-752 website. The following photos were taken of the plane on June 25, 2011 at the New Richmond Flyin.

According to Bruce Gorrell who flew the airplane, it was a trainer. According to Bruce, "If you look closely, you can see the periscope just behind the forward canopy for the back seat guy to see over the nose."
