Wellington Lappin

"[T]he said Wellington Lappin did on or about the 18th day of August 1862 when ordered to remain with his company by Capt. D. C. M. Shell, then commanding, say to him Look out or by the Holy Jesus I'll shoot you, or words to that effect and further that said Lappin did say to Corporal I. H. Mallow..."By the Holy God I'll shoot you or any other man who comes to arrest me or words to that effect and at the same time taking a cartridge from his box as if to load his gun"

Shell and Mallow were killed at Antietam a month later.
