When I took CTB route 12A today, a citizen who did not have Cantonese accent went aboard the bus without paying full bus fare. The driver asked her to pay full price, but she denied and thought that it was not necessary to dispute for the small amount of fare. Then she started to use foul languages to shout at the driver, luckily before the driver wanted to ask the person-in-charge of the terminal for help, a person with good intention gave two dollars to that vexatious citizen, in order to let the bus left the station on time. But she did not thank the person who gave her money, which showed the poor quality of her.
On the way to school, she was still shouting at the driver, saying that the driver was not human being, and used some foul languages to curse the driver's relatives. The driver could not stand it, so he looked at the passengers with depressed from his eyes. However, no one on the bus planned to help the bus driver to fight against the citizen. They did their own stuff without looking at the driver. I know, maybe the reputation of the school may be affected if a student tried to quarrel with the citizen, but due to the seriousness of this incident, I think it was really unbelievable to see no one standing out. The society of Hong Kong is fair, how can we allow such thing happen? We must stand out for justice, by not letting any uncivilised people wandering around Hong Kong!
There was struggling in my heart at that time. I was thinking whether I should stand out or not. Should I say ''Due to the fact that you don't pay enough bus fare, you cannot take the bus.'' or ''you are totally not a civilised person at all!'' But as I thought out the consequences for shouting those sentences out in front of students and teachers, at least I did not vent my anger. Instead, I let the uncivilised citizen shouted at the poor driver. I felt guilty about this. Will I become those new generation who do not dare to voice out their opinion?
The Hong Kong Government should punish those vexatious citizens, in order to show that Hong Kong is a civilised society!
