Air

Edinburgh Airport has excellent domestic and international flight connections. A number of budget airlines offer cheap fares between Edinburgh and UK and European destinations, while scheduled airlines provide comprehensive worldwide coverage to and from Edinburgh.

Airport buses and trams provide express transport between Edinburgh Airport and central Edinburgh (Waverley Bridge, near Princes Street and the main rail and bus stations). The journey time is approximately 25-35 mins and the departure frequency varies between 10 and 20 mins, depending on time of day. Rail

Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station, located close to Princes Street in the centre of the city, provides rapid and convenient connections to the UK rail network. The symposium venue and the Mercure Hotel are a short walk (5-10 mins) from the station.

Car

Participants are advised to avoid travelling to the symposium by car; parking in the city centre is both problematic and expensive and traffic congestion is often significant during morning and afternoon rush periods.
