Powerful, heartfelt music of many varieties has always been a cornerstone of worship at the church.
We are a church that loves to sing!
Joseph Eckelkamp is our new music director.
The choir leads us in worship every Sunday from September through June.
Joseph Eckelkamp is a multi-disciplined creator who is a trained musician, composer, arranger, and pipe organ builde. He has performed as a pianist and organist with members of the Marine's Own Chamber Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, jazz luminaries like Arturo Sandoval, Lou Marini, Steve Wiest, John Clayton, Jeff Hamilton, and John Pizzarelli among others. His classical playing has taken him to perform music throughout the Midwest as a collaborative pianist and soloist. He has worked extensively in theatre and provided custom writing for cabaret performances and show choirs. His work includes decades of work as a liturgical musician and music director for choirs covering music from Gregorian chant to CCM. He has a particular passion for English liturgical music, particularly Victorian/Edwardian hymnody and music for choral evensong. As a liturgical musician, he has served Roman Catholic and Episcopal congregations in weekly worship, writing and arranging special music for choirs and instrumental ensembles, as well as hosting collaborative concerts (sacred and secular) that he produced with musicians of different backgrounds.
