This site is devoted to thoughts and experiments concerning environmental biology, general biology, and life.

Karl Randall is the author. Following earning his Masters at West Virginia University studying the ecology of phytoplankton in coal strip mine ponds he taught at Penn State and transitioned into business with GD Searle, American Hospital Supply, Ulster Scientific, and Caltech Industries.

Karl is a former businessman and teacher with experience in the positions of sales, sales management, training, and marketing in medical (manufacturing, pharmaceutical, & devices) and distribution companies. One of his accomplishments was the introduction of a "painless" means of self finger-sticking which opened the market for diabetics to better manage their blood sugar.

He returned to teaching at College of Lake County after working with multiple organizations thirty-four years. Karl was the XO of The Executive Networking Group of Greater Chicago four years while teaching as an adjunct at CLC. Currently he is retired and tutoring at Indian River State College.

This site is intended as a resource for anyone with an interest in biology and humanity. The experiments and essays are designed for the high school and community college instructors and students. There are composite learning files and websites (Khan Academy & space games) that can be used by elementary school students and others for adults (Biochemistry, Personal Finance, Employment).

There are approximately one hundred pages with up to eight files each (see blue text) per page. Additionally, there are many hyperlinks per file. The hyperlinks are most effectively used by downloading each onto the hard drive and opening them with Adobe Reader. The spreadsheets are active after downloading and use with Excel.

Searching the site can be accomplished in two ways: place a word or phrase in the search box in the upper right corner or scrolling and opening each of the pages shown on the left index.
