2015 POPCORN KICKOFF!!
Hello Parents!The 2015 Popcorn Fundraiser under way. Be sure to pick up popcorn product each Tuesday, If you hae a large order to fill please email a head of time. If you take popcorn and are not selling it return it so we can hand out to others. October 27th is the deadline to turn in unsold popcorn and money owed on your take forms. No open or damaged products will be accepted. NO Exceptions!

Another fundraiser, but what is this really?
Popcorn sales is the gas that helps fuel your scouting engine. This engine takes you and your scout to places you may have never been before or in ways you've never done them as a family...camping at Tanah Keeta, Daytona or enjoying a great pack dinner within earshot of the rocket engines at Kennedy Space Center, even watching the monster trucks crush cars in wild abandon at the Monster Truck Jam at Dolphin Stadium and many more destinations and activities that your scout will remember forever.
What's great about fueling this scout engine is that you don't have to foot the bill. If your scout (along with Parent or Guardian) help sell scouting, you will earn money in your scout's account. Many scouts have paid little to nothing out of pocket for their scouting adventures. Nothing rolls off the tongue easier than asking our Treasurer to " Please pay that with our Scout Account."

Pack 241 Sales Goals:
The Pack goal set this year is: $10,000
- If we meet or exceed our pack goal then every scout who participated will enjoy a PIZZA PARTY!
The Scout goal set by the "Pack Committee" is $250 per scout.
If your scout sells $250, he will earn:
- A "POP" Popcorn Patch
- Level 3 prize from Trail's End
- $42.50 from Pack 241 in his SCOUT account to be used to pay for upcoming events!
Key Selling Points:
How to Promote
- A key point is that Scouts are selling scouting, not popcorn. Over 73% of the cost of the bag goes directly back to our local area, to our Council, to our District, to our Pack and even to your scout. Make this clear to your potential customers.
- Start every approach with "Hello, My name is ____, Would you like to support scouting?"
- Visit the Trail's End Website and watch the Scout Training Videos.
- Know your Product, Visit the Trail's End website Product Page to learn about the different types and nutritional information.
- All Trail's End Products have 0g trans fat across the entire product line
- All Trail's End Products are Kosher. Trail's End holds a Letter of Certification from the Orthodox Union.

Show & Sell Guidelines
- No Drop off's - A parent or guardian must remain with scout at all times.
- Wear Class A Uniform, Shirt, Kerchief & Slide
- Wear comfortable shoes
- Bring bottled water or money for soda / snacks.
- All sales money & donations will be kept and added to your scout's total sales that he turns in. Email the Popcorn Kernel if you want to request his balance of sales for the show and sells only.

- They brought back Jalapeno Cheddar in the bag! Great for Game Day!
Ways to Sell:
Show and Sells
- Show and Sells make up a big part of our popcorn program. We've obtained permission from local businesses to set up a sales table. Show and Sells have plenty of products on-hand for people to buy. Different Scouts work at the table in shifts. A leader will be there to guide and track sales. BSA does not allow "drop offs" at the Cub Scout level. The scout MUST have a parent or guardian present at all times. Scouts are to wear Class A uniforms during the Show and Sells.
- Go online to SignUp genius and select a location, date and time to sell. All Show & Sells are scheduled online only. Click here to launch online sales site.
Show and Deliver
- The Scout requests popcorn on consignment (variety could vary). He sells what he can and returns the rest with no penalty.
NOTE: No open packages can be returned this includes "Collections". The scout is responsible for what he takes. Please be courtesy and only take what you intend to sell.
Returns must be in good salable condition. No product can be returned after Tuesday, October 27th FINAL NO EXCEPTIONS.
- The Scout, with his Akela (parent or guardian), goes door to door with a Take Order Form and Trail's End Popcorn.
- The Scout carries Trail's End Popcorn with him (car or wagon) and is able to fulfill the customer's popcorn order right away.
Take Orders
- The Scout with his Akela (parent or guardian) goes door to door with a Take Order Form. The Take Order Forms were provided during the Popcorn Kickoff. If you did not revive one contact your Popcorn Kernel.
- The customer writes his / her order on the Take Order Form. The Scout then fills his order on Tuesday and delivers it back to the customer collecting the money at that time.
- The Scout processes the order and delivers the Popcorn to the Customer in the next week. If a customer orders chocolate, the scout needs advise the customer that chocolate order do not get placed till the end of October and will be delivered at the end of Nov. The money is due by the end of October, so the scout will need to collect the funds at time of order.
Selling at Work
- Mom and / or Dad take an order form and / or Trail's End Popcorn to their work.
- Fellow co-workers write their order on the order form or purchase product directly.
- Mom and/or Dad deliver product and collect the money.
- It is best to collect the money upfront when possible
Online Sales
Trails End has an online sales program that all scouts can participate in. Online sales can be made year round. All sales made online between August 1 and November 1 will count toward the scouts sales prize total for this season.
The products available online are different than those being sold via the take order form.
All scouts are invited to set up a new account this year.
- To set up your scouts online account:
- Go to www.trails-end.com.
- Click on "Scouts"
- Click on "Sign in or Register"
- Click on "Create an account" in the upper right corner and select "Scout."
- Fill in the appropriate information.
- When it asks for Council/Pack info, use the following:
- Council = Gulfstream Council
- District = Everglades
- Pack = Your Unit #
- Click "Create Account"

Fundraising Uses:
Our fundraising effort helps to make Scouting a great experience for your son, siblings and parents. Remember the more your scout sells, the more he earns, which means less out of the pocket expenses for you!
Here is a just a small sampling of the 2014 - 2015 activities your scout can apply his fund raising efforts towards:

- Scout Nights like Daytona International Speedway, Roger Dean Stadium, Harlem Globetrotters etc.
