The Rhineland Campaign

First phase of campaign began in the North where Feild-Marshal Montgomery had under his command the Ninth US Army as well ad his British and Canadian Forces.

In this battle the First Canadian Army under command of General Creras was strengthened by the addition of Allied formations and became the largest formation of Canadian officer had ever commanded in action .

The Battle of Rhineland had started because the British, Canadian and U.S. army had crossed the line over Rhinleland to Germany. the war was almost over and we wanted to push Germany back to where they were we wanted to keep Rhineland its own country and we needed to push Germany one last time before the war would end. it was fought by the First Canadian Army, with XXX British Corps under command, and the Ninth US Army while forcing back the Germans to the Rhine R.

Canadians had attacked over inundated ground ground in the fist phase, Operation Veritable (FEB 8-21) the Canadians the proceeded to attack through the Hochwald forest, know as The Battle of Hochwald Gap. The Battle of Hochwald Gap was almost as big
