I already support schools through property taxes, why should I give to the Endowment Fund?
The District 318 Endowment Fund is separate from the school district. Donations to the fund are used to support innovative ways of learning that fall outside of the school budget. We endeavor to fund grants that are both innovative and repeatable. Your donations go directly to supporting kids in our schools.
Are my donations tax deductible?
Yes, all donations to the District 318 Endowment Fund are tax deductible. Online donations automatically generate a receipt. For other receipts please contact us.
What kinds of projects are considered?
The projects that can be considered are as unlimited as your imagination. If you have a project that you believe will enhance kids' education, submit it. Funded projects have been traditional like books or field trips or as innovative as Google Glass, a drone, and a climbing wall. To be considered for selection, a project must
Have a clear benefit to students,
Be creative and innovative,
Be replicated if successful,
Not be a district-funded activity,
Nor fund staff salaries or extra-duty pay.
How much funding is available?
The amount available per grant is dependent upon the performance of the fund itself and the number of grant applications that are received. We encourage you to submit your grant in any amount. We endeavor to fund projects of all shapes and sizes.
Can we combine a grant application as a team?
Team grant applications are encouraged.
When are grant applications due?
Grant applications are typically due in November and funds must be used within the corresponding school year. Check the Grant Applications page for details.
