PROGRAMA DEFINITIVO
Resumen general
El Coloquio comenzará la tarde del lunes 17 de junio de 2019, a las 15:00 horas, con el acto oficial de apertura, al que seguirán una recepción de bienvenida y un paseo guiado por la zona antigua de la ciudad. El lugar previsto para su celebración es la Casa de Colón, edificio emblemático en el casco histórico de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
El resto del coloquio tendrá lugar en el Campus de Humanidades de la ULPGC (Campus del Obelisco), situado en la calle Pérez del Toro, 1.
Las comunicaciones se presentarán en sesiones plenarias y en sesiones en paralelo en varias salas desde el martes 18 hasta el viernes 21 de junio. Las sesiones plenarias se celebrarán en el Salón de Actos del Edificio Agustín Millares Carlo y el resto de las sesiones en el Aulario anexo del Campus del Obelisco. A lo largo de la semana se desarrollarán también las sesiones de los talleres sobre Communicative Anchoring in Latin (martes 18), Contemporary theoretical approaches to word formation in Latin (miércoles 19) y The different perspectives of analysis on the concept of word order and the contemporary problematic around a typological classification of the Latin language (jueves 20).
En la tarde del jueves tendrá lugar una excursión al municipio de Gáldar, para la visita de la Cueva Pintada. En la tarde del martes, tras la conclusión de las sesiones, está prevista también una exhibición de repentismo, modalidad de poesía oral improvisada y normalmente cantada, con fuerte arraigo en Canarias y en otras zonas de España e Hispanoamérica.
La cena de clausura tendrá lugar el viernes 21 de junio de 2019.

FINAL PROGRAMME
General Overview
The Colloquium will be inaugurated on Monday, 17th June, at 15:00h. The Official Opening Ceremony will be followed by a welcoming cocktail and a guided tour around the Old Quarter. The venue is Casa de Colón (Columbus House), an iconic building erected in the cobbled streets and old stone quarter of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The rest of the sessions will be held at the Humanities Campus (Campus del Obelisco), located at Pérez del Toro, 1 (street).
There will be plenary and parallel sessions, comprising from June 18th (Tuesday) up to June 21st (Friday). Plenary sessions will be held at Agustín Millares Carlo’s Conference Hall and the remaining sessions at the Lecture Block adjacent to the Campus del Obelisco. The following workshops will also take place: Communicative Anchoring in Latin (Tuesday, 18th), Contemporary theoretical approaches to word formation in Latin (Wednesday, 19th) and The different perspectives of analysis on the concept of word order and the contemporary problematic around a typological classification of the Latin language (Thursday, 20th).
Scheduled for Thursday afternoon is a tour to the northwestern locality of Gáldar to visit the Museum and archaeological site of Cueva Pintada (Painted Cave). On Tuesday afternoon, a performance of “repentismo”, or improvised oral poetry, will take place. Such improvisations, deeply rooted both in the Canary Islands and other regions of Spain and Latin America, are often sung out.
The closing dinner will take place on Friday 21st of June, 2019.
