Design
Exploration of topics including national, regional and state perspectives on child welfare, collaborative training models, caseworker support and regional Title IV-E program evaluation results. Participants will have the opportunity to explore programs, initiatives and ideas through deep and meaningful dialogue. Participants who have attended the Roundtable in the past have commented that it is their favorite professional gathering because of the intimate and meaningful exchange of information.
Do you work in child welfare? Whether you are responsible for training and professional development of staff, or an administrator of the Title IV-E/Title IV-B funding, this event is the place to learn from your peers about how to increase efficiency and access while reducing state and local costs. We seek proposals that will stimulate dialogue, provoke critical thinking, and lead to an improved child welfare infrastructure for professionals serving vulnerable and oppressed families.
Do you work in Juvenile Probation? Juvenile Probation Departments manage youth separately or in conjunction with child welfare systems and are in position to initiate or expand Title IV-E programs. This opportunity will be extensively increased based on currently proposed federal legislation. Encouraged proposals would promote dialogue, discussion and improve collaboration between juvenile probation and child welfare in the development or expansion of Title IV-E programs. Proposals focusing on opportunities rising from the new legislation are highly encouraged.
Are you an educator? Educators bear the societal responsibility of preparing professionals to work with, and on behalf of, vulnerable children and families. These professionals include, but are not limited to, social workers, officers of the court, and K–12 educators. We seek proposals that will stimulate dialogue, provoke critical thinking and lead to an improved educational infrastructure for professionals who serve vulnerable and oppressed families. Please consider submitting a proposal to the education track of the National Title IV-E Roundtable during a time of shifting policy.
We hope that you join us for the 2017 National Title IV-E Roundtable in Phoenix, Arizona—We want your participation!

Theme
Examining Efficiency and Increasing Access Across Systems through Collaboration
2017 National Title IV-E Roundtable ConferenceThe National Title IV-E Roundtable is a rare opportunity for child welfare stakeholders to gather and share best practices for effective education, training, research, and collaboration. Staff and faculty from Title IV-E social work education and training programs, along with state, county and tribal partners will enjoy the roundtable format of this professional conference which has a 20+ year history.
Title IV-E is a federal funding mechanism tied to the Social Security Act which began in 1980. It's goal is to support children from economically poor families who are under the care and custody of the public child welfare system. The funds also can be used for training current and prospective child welfare agency staff, caregivers of foster children, and other professionals involved with the development or implementation of a child's case plan.
