Hello and welcome to the workshop. In this session you will work with a team to develop a student-centered learning unit based on one of the learning strategies: case-based learning, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning or resource-based learning.
In a team you will:
Design a deeper learning lesson or unit
Design an assessment
Select technologies to support the lesson or unit
Develop and post a short video to explain the design
In a team setting, design and develop a student-centered learning lesson or unit with deeper learning concepts that is appropriate for your setting.
This session is designed to empower you to create a student-centered learning unit based on your choice of learning strategies presented in the session.

What to do:
Grab your team.
Brainstorm a topic/interdisciplinary unit for study.
Brainstorm the end goal- what do you want students to know and be able to do; Design the Assessment. Write the learning objectives from the assessment.
Use the learning based information (from presentation and on the Google Site (and beyond) to design a lesson that leads to your goal. (Design=Outline the unit/topic to be studied. Develop the guiding ideas; List the day-by-day activities and expectations. This is not to be a finished or polished product.)
Select potential technologies (see the Mega List) students can utilize.
Develop a short video (PowToon, smartphone video, etc.) to explain your concept.
Post the ‘video’ (to get feedback on the idea).
Post the link on Twitter with the conference hashtag.
