We have been sleeping very well, it usually gets dark 1830 so bedtime is often early, on a lot of the freedom camps we have bonfires for heat and entertainment but we are generally in bed by 2030 and up at 0700.
Accommodation has varied between:
Freedom Camping: usually ad hoc by the side of a river and has produced some superb sites, always free and usually no one else in site. The first one was by The Pentecost River, no people, no noise except animals and birds, big sky and pure light, near some crocs but we were on a bank so no problem.
Under the Bo-ab tree was a delight, about 5km of The Gibb River Valley road in open country, there was a track on the GPS but it soon disappeared on the ground. Visibility in all directions for a long way and not a fence line or structure insight, I noticed the next day the non existent track was called The Mosquito valley, we stayed up with our camp lights on with not a bug or moth in sight, there was no water so I assume this was why.
A great spot.
De Grey river was another lovely spot by the river, this was the only one that caused some concern for a short time. Some mine workers turned up later and had a barby by the river, one was very drunk and loud, they did not stay long and the others guided him home, there were some lovely pelicans patrolling the river.
