Getting the Store in order

Post date: Jul 22, 2013 6:24:31 AM

This past week end saw a hive of activity at the Scout Hall. A number of Scouts came down to the hall to clean out the Quarter Master's Store. A lot of junk and worthless bits of wood and scraps of plastic were thrown out. The trommels were cleaned out, re-packed, marked, and packed back on the shelves. The store was also swept out a number of times to get all the dust out.

The biggest improvement was sorting our all the ropes, by length. The ends of the ropes were all checked and whipped to prevent the rope from fraying. All ropes were then colour coded (white, red, black, yellow and blue) by painting the ends of the ropes, and then hanked ready to be hung up.

One wall in the store was painted and hooks fitted with a colour panel painted above the rack to hang all the ropes according their category.

All the lift jackets were also collected from all the boat stores. Each life jacket was hung on a coat-hanger and hung up on hooks provided on the newly painted wall.

Thanks to Melissa, Jenna, Nicole, Claudia, Erin, Belinda, Craig, Gregory and Kyle for giving of their time over the week end to help clean up the store.
