Swiss Education Group (SEG) is the largest private educator in Switzerland. We currently operate 4 of the world’s top hospitality schools and have more than 6,000 students enrolled in our courses.
With nearly 40 years experience in hospitality, business, and culinary arts education, we are firmly rooted in the great tradition of Swiss hospitality.
We are committed to equipping our students with the leadership and entrepreneurial skills they need to thrive in the hospitality industry and beyond. We offer a wide range of hospitality education courses, including bachelor’s and master’s degrees. We also offer short professional courses, so students can choose a program that is specific to their individual learning needs and professional interests.
Location
The Swiss Education Group is a consortium of leading hospitality and business schools located across some of Switzerland’s most scenic regions, including Montreux, Lucerne, and Le Bouveret. Each campus offers a secure, international learning environment in close proximity to world-renowned hotels and tourism destinations. The locations combine Swiss precision, European culture, and global industry access—making them ideal for students who wish to study in the heart of the hospitality and business world.
Areas of Strength
SEG institutions specialise in hospitality, business, luxury brand management, culinary innovation, and event leadership. All programmes are delivered in English and focus on applied learning, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Students develop global business skills within a uniquely Swiss context, combining academic study with professional practice.
The four main schools within SEG include:
HIM Business School – Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with specialisations in Marketing & Luxury Brand Management, Advanced Strategies in Finance, Talent Management (Human Resources), and Hospitality Management.
SHMS Swiss Hotel Management School – BA in International Hospitality and Events Management, blending hospitality management with event design and operations.
César Ritz Colleges Switzerland – BSc in International Business in Hospitality Management, integrating Swiss hospitality tradition with modern entrepreneurship.
Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland – BA in Culinary Business Management, ranked #1 culinary school in the world (QS World University Rankings), combining culinary excellence with business acumen.
Cost
Tuition fees vary by programme and institution, but Swiss education is considered a premium investment in quality and employability. Students should expect total annual costs (tuition, accommodation, and meals) in the range of CHF 35,000–45,000, depending on programme and campus. The integrated nature of study and residence simplifies living arrangements and ensures full access to campus facilities and professional kitchens, restaurants, and training centres.
Scholarships
SEG offers partial scholarships ranging from 5% to 30% of tuition fees, awarded on a first-apply, first-serve basis. Scholarships are applied across the entire duration of study and are assessed on academic merit, motivation, and overall profile.
Ranking
While SEG schools are not listed in broad academic university rankings, they hold leading positions within their specialist sectors. The Culinary Arts Academy Switzerland, for example, is ranked #1 globally by QS for Culinary Arts. Collectively, the SEG schools are recognised worldwide by industry leaders for their emphasis on professionalism, global exposure, and Swiss quality standards in hospitality and business education.
International Focus
SEG attracts over 6,000 students from more than 110 nationalities. Courses are taught entirely in English, with a strong focus on cultural intelligence and leadership in a global context. Students benefit from SEG’s extensive international internship network, with placements across Europe, Asia, and North America. Close ties with global hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hyatt, Four Seasons, and LVMH ensure direct industry engagement and networking.
Why It May Suit SISQ Students
Students with an interest in business, hospitality, event management, luxury brands, or culinary entrepreneurship will find SEG’s practical Swiss approach ideal. The combination of classroom learning, industry placements, and international exposure aligns strongly with the IB philosophy of inquiry, independence, and global mindedness. SEG programmes suit students who value structure, cultural diversity, and clear professional outcomes.
Admissions
Applicants should hold a secondary qualification equivalent to the Swiss university entry requirement, such as the IB Diploma. Programmes typically expect a minimum of 26–30 IB points, depending on the course. All degrees are taught in English; therefore, proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL) is required if not already demonstrated by the IB English score. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and early applicants have the best chance of securing scholarships and preferred campus placements.
Notable Feature
Every SEG student undertakes paid internships as part of their degree, allowing them to graduate with both academic qualifications and international work experience. This integration of theory and practice, combined with Swiss standards of excellence, produces graduates who are sought after by global employers in hospitality, business, and luxury sectors.
