At SISQ, we believe that each student’s university journey should reflect who they are and who they wish to become. Guided by SISQ values and the IB Learner Profile, we help students identify opportunities where they can thrive socially, academically, and personally, while preparing for meaningful future careers. We recognise that success looks different for every student: some will follow traditional university pathways in various countries, while others may explore gap years, personal projects, or direct entry into the world of work.
The University Counsellor works with students to build a balanced and personalised university list and to review application requirements, including admissions criteria, standardised testing, and financial considerations. We also oversee the preparation of supporting documents such as references, confirmation of high school completion, and school transcripts, ensuring that applications for universities and internships are complete and accurate.
In addition, we provide guidance on personal essays, CVs, summer programmes, interviews, and application strategies. We offer meetings with students and their families to answer questions and provide support throughout the application journey.
We also organise and promote a range of events to prepare students and parents for the steps ahead. These include workshops, presentations by university representatives, and university fairs. Our community connections help students learn from SISQ alumni, who share their experiences of university life and career pathways.
We aim to equip students with the confidence, resilience, and life skills they need to navigate life beyond school with purpose and integrity. Our counselling approach is inclusive, respectful, and responsive to the diverse backgrounds of our students and families, helping each young person take ownership of their future with clarity and courage.
Further information and resources can be found on the SISQ University Counselling website, which is regularly updated with guidance, key dates, and helpful links. We encourage students and families to contact the University Counsellor with any questions at mbradley@sisq.qa or book a meeting.
