The Siren School District covers about 106 square miles located in Burnett County in northwestern Wisconsin. The district has approximately 500 students (FTE), 20% of which are minorities, the largest group being American Indian from the St. Croix Chippewa Tribe of Wisconsin. Within the District 65.3% of its students live in poverty, 14.6% are American Indian and 23.1% are students who have a disability. The School District of Siren is broken down into three buildings, namely an Elementary (EC-5), Middle School (6-8) and High School (9-12). We have a school board comprised of 7 members, elected from within the district. Meetings are held monthly with annual meetings held in September. The district is composed of seven townships surrounded by area lakes and forest land. There is a blend of both manufacturing, tourism, and some gaming that supports the area financially. Siren is a small town with a population of approximately 1,000. Local businesses and several homes were rebuilt or renovated following a tornado in 2001. The area enjoys a rich blend of cultural diversity with the St. Croix tribal community making up a significant portion of our school community. Siren provides students with a nice combination of academics, sports, and music.

Services Provided to Students

All students in grades 6-12 will utilize the Career Cruising software to complete an e portfolio called My Plan. Middle school students will be working on this during their Guidance Explore period.
