What are the Post 15 coaching staffs?
We have a few different levels of coaching staffs.
Legion East and West have 3 paid coaches and can have a 4th volunteer assitant if the head coach would like. Legion coaching staffs main focus will be to win baseball games and set their team up for success is powerpoint games. These games help with seeding for the post season.
Jr. Legion and Legion Post 15 teams have a head coach and an assitant coach. These coaches have worked for Post 15 for a few years and have worked their way up to the Jr. Legion level, they are expected to manage the pitching staffs and develop the players to play Legion East or West.
Class A coaching staffs from 16u on down are normally are newer coaches who have played in our organization or in other simialr orginaztions. We try to find coaches who are playing or could have played college baseball. These coaches are given a dynamic warm up to follow before games and practices as well as practice plans and will be taught how to follow the USA Pitch Smart Pitch counts. The main focus for these coaches will be development both during games and practices.
Playing time expectations
Legion Level
There are no playing time rules when it comes to Legion baseball. Coaches will play the best Lineup each game and will do their best to rotate players in tournament games and non power point games
Jr. Legion Level
Playing time rules are different at this level than all other levels. We try to follow the Class A rules of everyone playing a doubleheader but sometimes this doesnt work out in powerpoint games. We are still trying to develop at this level so we do still have a mandaorty mandatory play time rule. We feel everyone on this team can help win the ball game. Pitching at this level does count as games played and most pitchers will not hit during their games.
Class A (16u,14u,13u)
Playing time rules for this division. Everyone must start and play one game of a doubleheader. Pitching and not hitting will count for the starter or a reliever that throws more than 3 innings in a game. These levels are per development levels during midweek games. Everyone needs the opportunity to earn a starting spot for weekend tournaments. This level is where we will focus on tournament games as our chance to win a tournament. The coach as the right to play what ever lineup he sees fit to win the tournament until they are mathamatically eliminated from the tournament.

These programs will again teach the fudamentals that our coaches have been breifed on and will contuine to teach throughout the season. Layne and Jeff will just go a little more indepth than your coaches will during the summer. We will also expect them to be at open hits on Sundays to get in extra work from Novemeber through february.
