Training

Weight Room

Post 15 players will gain access to lifting programs and use of the weight room under Jeff Campbell's supervision. Lifting will start in October and  will contuine with Off-Season training starting in Novemeber. During non training times players can setup up times to come in and use the weight room under coaches supervision and will be given a workout program to be done at other places if requested. We want to put our main focus this umpcoming season on getting stronger and more athletic. The Weight room is where this has to happen. 

Off-Season Training

Off-season training this year will no longer be called academy anymore. We have made changes the past few years and are contuining to make these changes moving forward. This training will be centered around the weight room and athletic ability of each player. The first two months will be heavily focused on getting stronger and getting the arm in shape for the up coming season. 4-6 hours of the 8 hours will be spent either in the weight room or doing other mobility and plyometric training. The other 2 will be spent on throwing and individual drills on either the defensive or offensive side. As the calendar turns to the new year this is when we will taurn our focus to more baseball training. We will spend more time on Hitting, Defense and pitching during this time. Adding in some Live ABs as we near the end of our training in preparation for high school practices. 


Off-Season training for 14u and 13u will be the monbth of April and we will contuine to focus on the basics of the weight room and the basic fundamentals that we belive will help translate to the next level. We will spend an hour each time in the weight room learning basic movements and an hour doing baseball activities. Our main goal for this training is to teach them some new things that they havent been taught yet. There a few key points that Layne and Jeff focus on for both throwing and hitting that will be covered during this training time. We will also go over the basic footwork we want to teach on the defensive side to help both infielders and outfields be prepared for their season. 

Open Hit 

Open hit is provided on Sundays in Novemeber through February (time TBD). We will open the facility for 2-3 hours on sundays to allow any Post 15 player access to get some extra work in. We will have one of our coaches as a superivors incase any player or parent has questions or just wants a little help. This is included in your fees for the summer and is a great opportunity to learn how to take advantge of our facility in the winter. 


Summer Lifting/Early Work

This summer Jeff campbell started opening up the facility in the mornings Monday-Thursday for players to come in and workout as they needed for their schedule. This could include extra swings, groundballs and even lifting. He would write a few workouts on the board based on positions and when the player last pitched. Its also another great oppotuinty to ask questions and get extra work in. Next summer this will be provided from 8:30am-Noon. During this time you can use the facility as needed and most days you will see former players getting in extra work as well.
