Welcome to high school Geography! This year we will focus on human geography and physical geography! This means that we will discuss the impacts that population, culture, politics, conflict, agriculture, urban/city life, and industry have on geography! In addition, each week you will be assigned a map to study which you will be quizzed over at the end of the week.
Things you can expect to do in class: read and write about how geography impacts your life and your understanding of the world, watch videos to see what life is like in different parts of the world, and study maps!
We will be using Google Classroom --all resources that you need will be on there!
**Parents may request guardian access by sending Miss Lind an email. Guardian access allows you to see a weekly report on missing assignments.
Below you will find important documents for this class including my syllabus and my agenda/homework document.
This syllabus includes important expectations for class including the grading policies. This class will have weighted grades. Find more details in the syllabus!
Below is a list of resources that we will use throughout the year! Feel free to check them out!
Worldle --Have you heard of Wordle? This is like that BUT you are given a shape of a country and you have six guesses to figure out the name!
Globle--This one is similar to worldle because you are trying to find the country of the day; however, you have unlimited guesses and you have the whole globe in front of you!
Seterra--The ultimate map quiz website! This is a GREAT resource to help you study for your weekly map quizzes.
Sheppard Software--Another map quiz website that could help you study for the weekly quizzes!
City Guesser--This is a fun game where you use geography context clues to figure out what city you are in!
Have you ever played Free Rice? Each question you get correct means grains of rice are donated around the world! You can even change topics/subjects! In class I'd prefer you use the History and Geography section.
