Welcome to Valley View Middle School's counseling site. Our counseling department supports the academic, college and career exploration and social/emotional well-being of your students. As a department, we will provide a program that includes individual, group and classroom programming to promote student success. As specific lessons are presented to students, we will share access to that presentation with you.

The school counselors will work in partnership with other educators, parents/guardians, and community contacts to support students. This partnership will help ensure that all students at Valley View Middle School have the opportunities they need to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet their highest potential, become lifelong learners, and responsible, contributing citizens in our community.

Working in partnership with parents, students, teachers and administrators; our mission is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that attends to the needs of all students. We support students through responsive and developmental services such as personal and social counseling, academic guidance and support, career exploration, college planning, and student and family advocacy.

• Help improve school work (organization, completing tasks/assignments, and study skills)

• Respond to individual student/parent needs/questions

• Core Counseling Curriculum taught to students using personal/social, educational, college and career goals.

• Facilitate parent/teacher/student conferences 

• Coordinate All Teacher Conferences for students who are struggling academically, personally, and/or socially.

• Coordinate and facilitate Student Study Team (SST) Meetings

• 504 Coordinator for students with Section 504 Accommodation Plans

• Implement a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), which ensures all students have access to a comprehensive counseling program
