Building champions of character to inspire our world

Royal High School competes in the very competitive but balanced Coastal Canyon League which includes Camarillo, Moorpark, Oak Park, and of course our cross town rival Simi Valley. Since its existence, Royal athletics has accumulated 181 league titles and 23 CIF championships. We have 27 varsity sports with 72 total teams. Royal High school encourages and supports the multi-sport athlete. Most teams field three levels: Varsity, JV, and Frosh, and our varsity head coaches have over 275 years of coaching experience. Our student athletes excel in the four A’s: Academics, Activities, Arts, and Athletics and have represented Royal High School at all five college levels of competitions: NCAA Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, NAIA, and junior college. Royal High School has a rich tradition in high school sports competition and all our athletes adhere to the principles of Pursuing Victory with Honor. In like manner, our coaches and athletes also adhere to the Code of Ethics that calls on them to maintain quality character on and off the playing field.

Highlander Student Athletes, Class of 2021 - Pursuing Excellence in Athletics at the Collegiate Level

Each year, our Highlanders take the experiences, lessons, and victories of the athletic participation they live as Highlanders and leap into an elite level of competition. As a highly competitive athletic program, we are so proud of the effort, drive, and determination of all our student athletes. While all Royal student athletes will take their experiences in sports with them for a lifetime, there are a select few that earn the chance to compete at the college level. We are proud of them not just for their achievements and the glory it brings to our school, but more importantly for the examples they set of sacrifice and hard work. The commitment of these Highlanders (and that of their family, coaches, friends, and teammates in supporting them) sets the bar for what it means to achieve excellence.
