Reminder:  You must have a burn permit and call the station BEFORE you begin burning.  We will advise you on weather conditions and whether burning is allowed or prohibited that day.    

The picture below is the class on air support for large grass fires conducted at the Silver Lake Station #2 on March 3rd.  Personnel from multiple fire departments in Shawnee, Jackson, Osage and Pottawatomie Counties attended.
