Learn to Build Dictionaries with FLEx
Join Our Online Guided Cohort!
For several years, Dictionary and Lexicography Services (DLS) has offered our free online courses on creating bilingual dictionaries using SIL’s FieldWorks Language Explorer (FLEx) exclusively as self-paced learning. While this model gives learners total flexibility, we recognize that many students thrive with added structure, live feedback, and peer collaboration.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce guided cohorts—combining the flexibility of self-paced materials with hands-on support from experienced facilitators.
Work through the LEX 101 course alongside a supportive group of peers, gain hands-on practice with FLEx, and stay motivated through shared learning.
Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work through challenges and answer questions together.
Stay Accountable: Gain the structure and discipline needed to maintain momentum and complete the course.
Peer Networking: Connect and exchange insights with fellow linguists, language advocates, and dictionary makers worldwide.
Format: Guided online group study with peer interaction.
Language: Available in English, French, or a bilingual track (determined by interest).
Schedule & Tuition: Start dates and fee details will be announced based on initial feedback.
