About our day in the classroom
Interest Centers
intentional learning during play
Each center is set up to teach different skills from the IELDS domains.
During center time the teachers will push into different centers to work on these skills, as well as conduct a small group activity.
Interest centers: blocks, dramatic play, math,fine motor, library, art/writing, painting, water table, science, IPADs, pocket chart/flipcharts, flannel board/ puppets, legos, dry erase board, magnets, music center, & pretend center
Circle Time
The first circle time will include color/shape/number songs, counting activities, math concepts, question of the day, poems, theme activities, movement songs, weather, and calendar/schedule.
The second circle time is our literacy circle. This includes a read aloud, letter of the week, letter songs, theme activities, poems, and nursery rhymes.
Gross motor Activities- Playground, Yoga,
We will have a speech group once a week. These sessions work on language skills. They work on receptive and expressive skills. Our class participates in activities, read aloud, and music activities during speech group.

Progress Reports Fall, Winter, & Spring
Pre-k has formal progress reports 3 times a year fall, winter, and spring qtrs.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Fall conferences- Every student info. Closer to date
Spring conferences- Students that will attend kindergarten the next school year and new students that did not have one in the fall. Other students will not have a conference unless you request one due to a concern.
Tentative possible Field Trips
September- Braeutigam Orchard (apple picking),
Fire station (walking field trip)
October- Millstadt Eckert's (pumpkin picking)
February- Healthworks Museum (Dental Health)
March-Museum of Transportation
April- Science Center
Family nights are for parent education and a fun activity for your child. Siblings may attend. If you have a younger sibling they must stay with the parent at all times.
