Topics

The examination is designed to evaluate competency in Excel, not general knowledge.  You should only take this exam if you have already learned advanced features of Excel.  Topics on the exam include, but are not limited to:

• • Formatting cells and worksheets

  • Sorting and filtering data

  • Writing formulas that use absolute and relative references appropriately

  • Using Excel functions including, but not limited to, summary statistics, financial functions, Boolean functions, conditional functions, reference functions, data and time functions, and text functions

  • Creating and manipulating custom charts

  • Building models, performing what-if analysis, and using Solver

  • Working with multiple worksheets

  • Creating and using named ranges appropriately

  • Creating and using pivot tables appropriately
