As we are all teaching the new specification for French / Spanish / German, and preparing our first cohorts to sit the new-look exams, we wanted to share useful articles, resources and webinars that might help to support you and your department.
On 24th September, the West Midlands Regional Language Network delivered a webinar for teachers using AQA to give space for discussion and reflection of the first cohort of the new specification. We're sharing useful links below, and resources here.

NCLE are running a national webinar, Lessons from the new GCSE on Wednesday 14th October between 4.00pm – 5.00pm. In this session, teachers will get more of a national picture of how the exams have been received across the country and both exam boards will also be in attendance. And finally… If you are interested in finding out more about the National Priority Projects that each NCLE Language Network has done over the last 12 months you can find the summary videos on Language Educators Online – LEO. I particularly recommend the video from Kinder - using music and AI to empower vulnerable learners for the GCSE speaking examination. You’ll need to create a free LEO account and then you can access their explainer video. It’s about 12 minutes long. NPP: Kinder Network NPP | NCLE. Catherine and Michelle who have led this project are both amazing teachers based in Manchester so please let me know if you try any of their ideas and I can pass on your feedback / experiences!
