Curriculum Overview: At SICS, our K-5 curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in critical academic areas, including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. Each subject area is aligned with state standards to ensure students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in higher grades, prepare for college, and be citizens in the community and beyond. We are dedicated to employing various instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students. Teachers will focus on fostering student voice, critical thinking, creativity, and student collaboration. Regular assessments will monitor student progress and guide instruction. These assessments will help us identify areas where students may need additional support and areas where they excel. In addition to academic excellence, we strongly emphasize social-emotional learning (SEL). This helps students develop the skills to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions. Our curriculum integrates SEL into daily lessons, creating a well-rounded learning experience.
We are excited about the possibilities and are committed to making this year successful for all students. Together, we can make a difference in their academic journey and beyond.
