Erin Ruane qualified for and will compete in the NJ Meet of Champions in the 100 breaststroke. The meet is on March 2 and 3.

Following our Recent Graduates' Swimming Careers
Helen Grossman (Shore Class of 2016) is in her second year at LSU as chemical engineering major and the top butterflier for the LSU Lady Tigers while swimming faster than ever achieving personal best times in the 50,100, 200 fly, and 50,100 free events. During her four years at Shore, Helen was the undefeated Monmouth County and Shore Conference 100 butterfly champion, placed 4th in the event at the NJ Meet of Champions as a junior and 3rd as a senior, was recognized as an Academic All-American, NJSIAA 2016 Scholar Athlete, Shore Regional Valedictorian and still holds 7 Shore Regional Swim Team Records, as well as the Monmouth County and Shore Conference meet records for the 100 fly. Helen was recognized at the Asbury Park Press Sports Awards as the 2016 Female Swimmer of the Year and received the Asbury Park Press Scholastic Achievement award. Helen says, "Despite the hard work, difficult schedule, and occasional lack of sleep, I never regret the decision to continue my swimming career in college. I have made lifelong friends in my teammates, and have achieved a level of confidence and resiliency that I would not have achieved without my sport!"
Samantha Irace (Shore Class of 2014) is completing her final year at FDU, with a major in Sports Administration and captain of the swim team. She earned a spot on the FDU swim team records wall in several events, and swam her personal best times in all of her events. Sammy was a four year varsity swimmer at Shore and captain her senior year. She says, "Shore swimming made me fall in love with swimming again and made me want to continue swimming in college. Some of my best memories from high school were because I was on the swim team. "
Sarah Bertekap (Communications Class of 2013) swam for Shore for four years and was a captain her senior year. Sarah went on to swim for Mount Holyoke College for 3 years while studying English Literature.
Courtney Delehanty (Shore Class of 2011) made waves at Shore Regional as a top freestyler in Monmouth County and the Shore Conference all four years of her high school career. She went on to swim for LIU-Post where she had an amazing career as an NCAA All-American, breaking school records with her nationally ranked relay team and earned her Masters Degree in Health Administration.
Drake Halpern (Shore Class of 2010) joined the Shore swim team as a junior, and fell in love with the sport. Drake went on to serve as team captain his senior year and continued on as a four year swimmer at Hood College, swimming every single collegiate swimming event at least once and was team captain his senior year! He is currently working for the National Parks Service at the Grand Canyon in the Visitor Resource and Protection Division.
