One of the most positive aspects of SHENsational was the way it brought people within the Shenendehowa community together. Our challenge this year has been to come together as a community when we need to be physically apart. Our students and staff have been learning how to cross that distance together all year.
COVID-19 has had a significant impact on our community’s health, mental wellness, and economic well-being. While our community has not experienced high levels of infection, we have watched the impact of the global pandemic, economic crisis, and tremendous, ongoing mobilization against police violence and other forms of anti-black and systemic racism on our friends, family, state and the nation. We have experienced a tumultuous Presidential election and transition to a new administration.
How do we move forward as a community? How do we connect across not only physical distance, but also political distance? How do we carry forward a conversation with each other that moves us forward as a country? How do we hear each other’s best arguments and best contributions to create a more perfect union?
