The Mountain View boys cross country team won the Shenandoah County meet for the second time in a row. Mountain View totaled 32 points to finish 6 ahead of Strasburg and 24 points ahead of Central.
In the girls' meet, the Generals finished in third place. The team was led by Jordyn and Jadyn Foster.

The MVHS varsity volleyball team captured huge wins over Stuarts Draft and Luray in recent action. The win over Luray helped the Generals wrap up the 7th seed in the Bull Run District Tournament. The win also helped to push the Generals to the 8th seed in the Region B tournament heading into districts. Barring any upsets, in the tourney, the Generals could qualify for regional play. The MVHS golf team finished a strong season with a sixth-place finish at the VHSL Class 2 State Golf Championship held at the Ole Mill Golf Resort in Laurel Fork, VA.
The Generals were led by Andrew Wymer who carded an 87 on the par 72 course. Joey McNamara finished close behind with an 88. Aiden Springer (103), Stuart Pirtle (104), Wyatt Fleming (108), and Jackson Saeler (116) also competed for the Generals. Floyd Co. won the championship by 25 strokes over the runner-up Marion High School. Dylan Olinger of Bruton was the individual champion with an even-par score of 72. Full Results here.
The Generals captured the Bull Run District regular season and tournament championships. The Generals finished as runner-up in the Region B tournament before heading to state.

The varsity football team dropped two games since the last issue of the Generals Sports Update. The team lost at home to Roanoke Catholicon October 7 by a score of 38-16. Hunter Rinker accounted for all 16 Generals points with two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion.
The Generals then traveled to West Virginia to take on Petersburg High School. The Generals were shut out by a score of 49-0 by the Vikings.
The Generals return to action at Page County on Friday, October 21. The Generals will end their season on October 28 at home.
The North Fork Middle School cross country team had several successful runners at the Bull Run District Middle School Championship held at the New Market Battlefield Course. The girls' team finished in 3rd place and the boys in 5th.
On the girls' side, Hayden Clem finished second overall with a time of 15:29. Teammate Phedora Hoover also scored in the top ten with an 8th place finish in a time of 16:26. Kaitlyn Lutz (27, 18:36), Leah Washington (30, 19:06), and Ramember Bennett (33, 19:15) all ran for the Generals.
On the boys' side, Penn Watkinson finished second with a time of 13:42 and teammate Marcus Bowley finished right behind him with a time of 13:46 in third place. The Generals got improved finishes from Joshua Nicholas (30, 17:54), Caleb Walker (34, 18:16), and Zach Povlish (35, 18:17).
