The varsity football team captured their first victory of the season on our Homecoming game vs. MMA. The original opponent for the game, Craig Co., cancelled on Wednesday due to the impending weather from Hurricane Ian. MMA graciously agreed to play, allowing the team to have a Homecoming game.
The Generals won the opening toss and proceeded to make an opening drive touchdown, the 2-point conversion was no good which led to the kickoff. Caleb Eaton recovered an MMA fumble at midfield. The Generals then took the ball to the endzone making the score 12-0 in the 1st quarter, at half time the Generals lead was 20-0. After halftime, the Colonels received the ball at the start of the second half but failed to score. The Generals scored 19 unanswered points in the 3rd quarter to open the game up. The Generals had continued success on defense and offense leading to 12 more points in the 4th leaving the final score 51-0 giving the Generals their first victory of the season.
Special congratulations to our Golf Team for capturing the Bull Run District regular season and tournament Championship. The team finished 16-0 in district matches and 18-3 overall. The team finished as the Region B tournament runner-up and will advance to the State Tournament on October 10 at the Ole Mill Course in Laurel Fork, VA.

The boys and girls cross country teams traveled to Spotswood to compete in the Town Park Invitational. Several boys and girls team members ran personal best times at this event.

The Generals varsity volleyball team split matches with their county rivals this week. The Generals dropped a 3 set match to the Central Falcons but responded with a straight set victory over the Strasburg Rams.
On Tuesday, the Generals faced one of the top teams in the district. The Falcons captured the match with scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-16.
On Thursday the Generals defeated the Rams with scores of 25-23, 25-13, and 25-18.
The Generals will return to action next with 3 matches. Monday they will be home vs. Stuarts Draft, on Tuesday they travel to Madison Co., and on Thursday they host Luray.
The Mountain View JV volleyball team lost two matches on the week. The first to Central on Tuesday by a score of 25-9, 25-22. The Generals then traveled to Strasburg on Thursday and dropped a tough 3-set match to the Rams. The score was 25-22, 3-25, and 16-18.
The Mountain View JV is 3-11-0 this year. They will be facing the Stuarts Draft Cougars on Monday hoping to come out with the win.
