Running Start requires agency and autonomy on the part of the student, collaboration with the family, high school and college advising, and a clear understanding of the expectations. Please make certian you follow the processes from your school of choice (OC or SPSCC) then contact Susie for your high school advising section.

New Market Skills Center is also an option for Juniors and Seniors in certain circumstances.

Please note that New Market is run through the Tumwater School District which is on the semester system. Thus, the calendar dates and credit opportunities are not the same as through the Shelton School District. Students that attend New Market must be on track for and on time diploma even with the adjusted credit opportunities. Please discuss this with your advisor and then your school counselor.
