This is a non-auditioned ensemble of treble and tenor/bass voices. Throughout this course students are taught music theory, classical, jazz and pop music repertoire. Continued development of vocal range and register is at the core of this ensemble. This course involves performance in four formal choir concerts, organizational contest in the spring as well as a recruitment tour to all 4 elementary schools. Ensemble and solo activities are designed to develop elements of musicianship including, but not limited to, tone production, technical skills, intonation, music reading skills, listening skills, analyzing music, and studying historically significant styles of literature. One year of another ensemble (preferably a choir) is a prerequisite for Chamber Choir. Optional social activities will be scheduled throughout the year.
