The Hormone Effect project aims to capture the impact of hormonal treatments.
The Hormone Effect project has group from our research with underserved population group around access and experience of contraception. One of the biggest challenges preventing use of hormonal contraception was the potential side effects and risk. Individuals also reported that they felt they were not listened to and they had their symptoms ignored or normalised.
We see this in the huge amount of hormonal hesitancy which seems continually in the press with headlines about rising abortion rates and people turning away from hormonal contraception.
This project aims to put the lived experiences of different groups at the heart of the conversation. Our work is developed in co-design and communities are actively involved.
