We have been using videos to support our activities in this lab for several years. In 2022/23 we trialled the use of "Tasty"-style lab videos for Foundation Year Chemistry, and compared the video analytics with the previous year.

An example video for Enthalpy of Combustion can be viewed below.
The average video length dropped from 8.9 mins to 2.5 mins.
From the video analytics data, it's clear that more students engaged with the videos. The estimated percentage of the class viewing the videos increased from 32.4% to 51.5%. The completion rate for the videos (what percentage of the video students watched) also increased, from 49.8% to 74.6%. This indicates that students were more likely to watch the video, and more likely to watch it to the end, compared to a traditional style of lab video.
Although we don't have any written student feedback comments to share, anecdotally we could tell students had engaged with the videos. During the lab I heard students talking about the video content, for example, saying "Hang on, in the video she does it this way..." and "Oh yes, that's how she did it." They also replicated one of my accidental mistakes! In any case, this indicated they had retained what they had seen in the videos.
These results and observations gave us confidence that this video style was worth trialling for other experiments.
