Sustainable Harvest Empowering Future Food Yield

Vision & Mission

Through this project of growing food locally, we address two key questions - 'WHY' and 'HOW' ? The aim of this project is to create awareness in the Sheffield community about HOW to grow your own food at home. Another aspect of the project includes creating awareness about WHY locally grown food is essential for low carbon footprint and its positive impact on the public health and environment.

The project is aimed at a large audience via a series of webinars, blog articles and online resources and then we would like to share the results of these efforts by evaluating how many webinar attendees and other people involved in the project were successful in their food growing efforts. Any surplus of food that we harvest will be donated to a Sheffield foodbank to help tackle food poverty. We also envisage the positive effect of domestic harvest on the mental wellbeing of the society.

Have you never grown food but would like to have your own harvest? No worries - attend our upcoming webinars led by food growing experts and you will become a pro!

A special focus in our project is dedicated to hydroponics - a sustainable and easy way how you can grow your own food even if you don't have a garden or allotment!

So now you've grown and harvested some food but what to do next? We've got your back - click here to find delicious recipes that you can make using ingredients you can grow at home or buy locally!
