July 2026
Fay and Charlie recently embarked on a trip to Diamond Light Source in Oxfordshire. Diamond is a state-of-the-art facility, so this was a fantastic opportunity to get some high-quality GIWAXS data for their projects.

Chloe presented her first poster this month at the Gordon Research Conference in Tuscany, Italy! The week-long coference provided many opportunities for listening to interesting talks, and networking with researchers in shared areas of the field.
To top it all of, there were beautiful views, italian food and gelato!

To celebrate a busy few months - we had a group lunch out at Rudy's. It was nice to catch up with everyone and unwind, whilst sharing some deliscious pizza!

This month Charlie presented a poster on his research at two University of Sheffield events; the Annual CMBE Conference, and the Engineering Research Symposium.

We went to MATSUS 2026 - Barcelona! What a great opportunity to hear about recent innovation in sustainable materials - in such an amazing city.
Both Charlie and members of our sister group enjoyed the excellent talks, and the culture and food that Barcelona had to offer.
Charlie presented his first conference talk here to great reception. A big conference for a debut presentation - well done Charlie!
